Wiard's Orchard is located at 5565 Merritt in Ypsilanti Township. 1956 brought about the addition of a retail shop at Wiard's. In 1966 that shop was remodeled into our present cider mill and a new farm market was constructed as well. 1984 brought the addition of the Country Fair to Wiard's. This 10 acre area boasts the 4000 sq. ft. Apple Blossom Pavilion, Animal Farm, Pony Corral, Music Stage, the Ultimate Haunted Barn, Pizza Shoppe, Grill Shack and Candle Shoppe. A complete sports facility including Softball Diamond, Basketball Court, Volleyball Courts, and Horseshoe Pits were added during the early 1990's to facilitate the launching of Wiard's Corporate Picnics.

There is a lip smacking delight in Wiard's fresh pressed apple cider that people have loved for over 151 years. George D. Wiard was the man who started it all seven generations ago in 1853 with a squeezing recipe that hasn't been matched. There is a dash of Grandpa Wiard's creativeness in every jug of Wiard's Cider. Here at Wiard's we have even found a way to pasteurize our cider and still have the wonderful, fresh squeezed, nothing added taste that Grandpa was known for. Apple cider made the old way is available at Wiard's Orchards seasonally each year. We define seasonally as "when the apples are ripe", this generally means September and October. Visit Wiard's for that cold glass of nature's best, fresh pressed apple cider that you remember from the "good old days". |
